Craft-city on hiatus — No meetings until further notice at Cozy Cafe, Woodbine and Danforht

October 4, 2012 from 2pm to 4pm
Stay tuned: A number of people have suggested a later time for Craft-city, so there will be no meetings as we work on regrouping. Any suggestions for new times and/or venues? Get in touch. Thanks. And thanks to all who have come out and shared ideas, materials and projects. See More

From Scratch at Cozy Cafe

September 6, 2012 from 2pm to 4pm
From Scratch is the fall incarnation of Craft-city, same venue, same time (we may go to a later time in the future if people are interested).… The fast-fashion industry, fuelled by low wages and cheap fossil fuel products, has many of our closets bulging, and unused items in a closet add to the global glut. Found in my closet: yarn I bought 10 years ago that I'm inspired to make into something or other. Come join me to swap ideas and/or materials. Bring a project, if you like.Cheers,SarahSee More

Sarah,

Thanks so much for creating the "craft city" group.  Could you create an "event" on the events page for the next Craft City meeting?  I'll broadcast an invitation to all our members and then when people show up, you can talk to them in person about joining the Craft City group online.

Another thing that would be really helpful would be if you could keep track of the numbers of people attending each month.  That would let us add the Craft City meetings to our "outreach" data sheet.  We try to keep track of the number of people we've reached through Transition Toronto events.  It's useful in demonstrating that we are, and always strive to be, more than just a few people talking about ideas we like, but are a real movement.

Thanks again, this is a great initiative.

Andrew
