Hey, welcome to the hood! Looking forward to meeting you both.

The group in Midtown is pretty new - we've only been meeting a couple of months, so just getting rolling and thinking about projects. So far we've made some contacts with other area groups, BIAs, etc and collected some members. We're trying to meet monthly, next one will be early March. This month I'm looking into creating a community garden in an area park and I've been emailing with the city about possible locations. I'll add you to the group mailing list!

Derek and Vinyse,

Thanks for joining!  Have you seen our Transition Midtown group? Its web presence is here:  http://transitiontoronto.ning.com/group/midtown

You can get in touch with them through this site.  They may have some initiatives you'd be interested in.

Everything you've mentioned (planning, strategy, community engagement and event coordination) are things we definitely need.  We'll try to get you the opportunity to do those things, but in the mean time, if you've got ideas, please send them along.  If you'd like to be involved in developing plans for Transition Toronto, let me know and I'll talk to the steering committee about meeting with you at our meeting this coming Monday.

Thanks again!

Andrew
