The World We Want. An evening with Frances Moore Lappe presented by USC Canada @ Wychwood Barns

Picked up my ticket today at Type Books ( 427 Spadina Road ) along with EcoMind, the latest book by Frances Moore Lappe.  I have enjoyed her work for 30 years and am really looking forward to her presentation.

Time flew as I read EcoMind on the train.  I was back in Scarborough before I knew it.

Was wondering if any Tto members are planning to attend.  If so, hope we can connect.

FYI

Tickets are $10.00 + tax ahead of time, online…

Hi Ann Marie,

http://www.containeralliance.com/index.php under the specifications I had looked at the high cube ones (9'6" instead of the normal 8'6" inside) but there seem to be a few suppliers. A local farmer told me he saw them all the time in the agricultural ads. I remember one place that would customize with roll-up doors for self-storage stuff. http://earthshelters.com/ this page seems to be topped by an image where 3 units could be placed side by side... Please let me know or feel free to mine my brain for anything that might be usefull. (You might have come across my fall at the TTC where I landed on my head in Janruary, I am home now working on getting some feeling in my right side. I feel mentally fine but my wife says I tend to repeat myself and repeat things!) I am planning to teach my kids to build with cob (free labour) and PAHS (Passive Annualized Heating System) And Toni and I had considered designing an earth-sheltered, furnace-redundant house off the grid. Again, hope you, your family and those worms too are doing well. I can't be as useful as I was actually building things, but my mind is still there and for the using provided anyone interested doesn't mind letting me know should I start babbling too much.

Cheers, Geoff
