Comment by Sarah Ives on May 4, 2012 at 5:05pm Hi BITers,
I wanted to let you know that I requested that the library order "The Transition Companion," and it is now up on their site, yay! And even though the books aren't actually in yet, there are two holds. OK, on is mine, but still...Good news!
Cheers,

Comment by Martina Rowley on August 12, 2012 at 9:31pm BIT met again on August 9. We talked in fairly general terms about various environmental groups and activities happening in the neighbourhood these past few months. Lots going on!
Several BIT members 'wear many hats' already, i.e. are involved with various groups and projects, e.g. local renewable energy (solar on Kew Beach P.S.; doggie-poo digester in discussion); sustainability network; Friends of parks group; re-/learning crafts skills; local tree projects; and various sustainability ideas for the neighbourhood.
We decided to reinstate monthly meetings, now that the summer craze is drawing to an end soon. Next meeting date: Sunday, Sep 9, 10am, at Juice & Java Cafe, at Queen & Wineva.
One thought for a next activity is to host a film screening to share the basics on Transition Towns, and tell people about TTo. Autumn is always good to start showing films again. Perhaps we can partner with the Beaches Library.
