Cam and Michelle Mather, authors of "Little House Off The Grid, Our Family's Journey to Self-Sufficiency" provide a complete overview to living a typical North American lifestyle powered entirely by renewable energy while preparing for challenging times down the road. They examine heat, hot water and electricity generation along with food production and storage with the theme of minimizing their impact on the planet while increasing your resilience to systemic shocks. They also examine how to change your relationship with money. The full day workshop includes lunch, two coffee breaks, a copy of one of their books and a chance to network with like-minded individuals. Cost is $120 per person and you MUST pre-register as spaces are very limited. Email michelle at aztext dot com for more details or to register.

Comment by Michelle Mather on March 11, 2012 at 12:10pm Hi Martina! We could certainly come to Toronto to do the workshop. It won't be quite so "hands on" of course, but Cam has presented workshops all over Ontario at community colleges and to Transition Groups. He will be speaking to the Cornwall group later this month. Perhaps we could get an idea of the number of people interested and find an appropriate location....
Comment by Martina Rowley on March 10, 2012 at 6:33pm Michelle, have you ever held/or might you consider offering this workshop or a shorter version here in Toronto? A 2 1/2-hour drive to your farm will be prohibitive for many of our members, including me.
Does your experience and what you're presenting 'translate' well into an urban setting?
~Martina
