Event Description

Learn about Permaculture Throughout the Seasons, with a Focus on Cold Climates

In response to the numerous inquiries from individuals in expressing an interest in taking a Permaculture Design Certification Course, but who are not able to take two-weeks off from their lives, jobs and family responsibilities to attend a residential intensive course, we are excited to offer this weekend Permaculture Design Certification Course.

A Full-Year of Learning: from March to January the following year. Experience the four-seasons learning that gives you a chance to implement as you learn thereby reinforcing and refining new knowledge and skills.

If you are a working person and can't devote two full weeks to a traditional Permaculture Design Course, then this option is perfect for you!

What is Four-Season Permaculture?

This course is a hands-on training being offered to take a permaculture students through the four seasons of nature's rhythms. You will acquire the skill how to observe and use the same principles that create ecological systems self-sustaining, and pertain them to integrated homes and gardens. You will learn how to bring into practice these principles to energy systems and water supplies, healthy communities, meaningful and fulfilling work, ecological economies and inner permaculture movements for change. The four-seasons format also allows you the opening to implement permaculture principles at home and in your backyard and bring your experiences and questions back to the training for feedback and discussion.

Four-Season Permaculture blends a full Permaculture certification course with earth-based cosmology, teaching visionary and practical solutions for personal and social change.

This course gives primary attention to regenerative living systems design for a temperate climate and is taught by certified instructors who live and create within the temperate environment.

Permaculture is "Consciously designed landscapes which mimic the patterns and relationships found in nature, while yielding an abundance of food, fiber and energy for provision of local needs. People, their buildings and the ways in which they organize themselves are central to permaculture." ~ David Holmgren, (co-originator of the Permaculture concept)

Are there plans for a similar course in the Toronto area? I imagine there would be quite a bit of participation locally.

Hi Joyelle,

Greetings, that would be greatly appreciated. My apologizes for not getting back to you sooner, with this warm spring weather our days have been full time being in the gardens and lots of pruning. Yes, just click on our website above and we have a few different permaculture courses that we offer. Anyhow, here is the link again:

Hope you will be able to join us for one of our events.

Enjoy the spring season!

In Kinship,

Shantree

I don't see a price for this course. Is there a website? Let me know and I will see about rounding up some of our other Transition Toronto members. Thanks!
