Every farmer knows that growing high value produce is only half the work, you need to be able to move your product out of the field to your customer without losing the quality you have worked so hard to achieve. Join FarmStart for a great chance to check out how the farmers at Everdale have developed an efficient and functional system for harvesting large quantities of perishable produce out of the field to be washed and stored, before heading to their CSA pick-up locations, and farmers markets.
Everdale is a teaching farm that provides hands-on, solution-based food and farming education. On 50 acres they have 12 acres of vegetable production, free range laying hens, sheep, pigs, donkeys, and draft horses. They sell their produce to 370 households through their Harvest Share Program, which has been operating since 1998.
